Privacy Policy
How Our20 handles your family’s information.
Effective and Last Updated: October 6, 2026
Our20 is a family coordination and safety application operated by Brushy Fork Technologies LLC, a limited liability company based in West Virginia, United States ("Brushy Fork Technologies," "we," "us," or "our").
This Privacy Policy explains how Our20 collects, uses, shares, stores, and otherwise processes information when you use the Our20 mobile application, related services, and Our20 website.
Our20 is designed to help families stay connected through features such as family location sharing, Safe Places, Family Check-In, Watch My Trip, family messaging, Family Calendar, alerts and family activity, and supported route-history features.
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or want to make a privacy request, contact us at privacy@our20app.com.
1. Information We Collect
The information Our20 processes depends on the features you and your family use, the permissions you provide, and your family relationships and sharing settings.
Account and Profile Information
We may process information associated with an Our20 account, including:
- name and display name;
- email address;
- account and user identifiers;
- family membership and family identifiers;
- family roles, such as parent, adult, or child;
- account creation information;
- optional profile information, which may include phone number, address, birthday or birth information; and
- profile or avatar images.
Passwords used for Our20 authentication are processed through our authentication provider. Our20 does not store account passwords in its ordinary application database.
Family and Invitation Information
Our20 may process information necessary to create and manage families, including:
- family names;
- family owners and members;
- family roles;
- invitations and invitation status;
- invitation or join information;
- membership changes; and
- information necessary to determine which family members may access particular features or information.
Location Information
Location is an important part of several Our20 features.
Depending on your permissions, account type, family relationships, sharing choices, and features in use, Our20 may process:
- precise geographic coordinates;
- location timestamps;
- location accuracy;
- altitude, heading, and speed where available;
- current or last-known location;
- location freshness or last-update information;
- foreground and background location information; and
- location information associated with Safe Places, trips, routes, calendar destinations, or other location-enabled features.
Our20 may process location while the application is in the background when appropriate permissions are enabled.
Location information may not always be current or available. Device settings, operating-system behavior, connectivity, battery state, permissions, background execution limits, and other conditions can affect location collection and delivery.
Our20 should not be relied upon as an emergency-location or emergency-response service.
Device and Connectivity Information
Our20 may process information used to operate family coordination and safety features, including:
- battery percentage;
- charging state;
- timestamps associated with device status;
- device or installation identifiers;
- push-notification tokens;
- platform information;
- time zone and locale;
- notification enrollment and delivery information; and
- connectivity or availability information used by supported features.
Safe Places
When Safe Places is used, Our20 may process information including:
- place names and addresses;
- geographic coordinates;
- place radius and category;
- family-member assignments;
- enabled or disabled status;
- arrival and departure information;
- visit information;
- transition information; and
- supporting location evidence used to determine whether a supported Safe Place event occurred.
Safe Place updates depend on available location information and other technical conditions and are not guaranteed to occur immediately or in every circumstance.
Family Check-In
Our20 may process information relating to Family Check-In, including:
- Check-In requests;
- requester and recipient information;
- responses;
- schedules;
- selected days and times;
- time zones;
- grace periods;
- missed or late Check-Ins;
- cancellation and escalation information;
- trusted recipients;
- delivery information; and
- authorized contextual information such as last-known location, battery status, or connectivity.
A missed Check-In does not establish that an emergency has occurred.
Watch My Trip
When Watch My Trip is used, Our20 may process:
- traveler and watcher identifiers;
- selected family members;
- destination information;
- origin and current location;
- trip status;
- location accuracy;
- battery information;
- timestamps;
- arrival information; and
- available distance or estimated-time information.
Watch My Trip sharing is feature-specific. Sharing a trip may operate separately from ordinary family-location-sharing preferences.
Messaging
Our20 messaging may process:
- message text;
- sender and participant identifiers;
- direct and group conversation information;
- message and thread identifiers;
- timestamps;
- read-position information;
- delivery and retry information; and
- other information necessary to provide family conversations.
Our20 does not provide end-to-end encryption for family messages.
Family Calendar
Our20 may process family-calendar information including:
- event titles and details;
- dates and times;
- event creators and editors;
- assignments;
- recurrence information;
- supported notification or reminder information, including separate per-event authorization for supported Time-to-Leave processing; and
- optional destination addresses, coordinates, or place information.
Family-calendar events may be visible to current members of the applicable family even when only certain members are assigned to an event.
Alerts and Family Activity
Our20 may create alerts and family-activity entries based on supported events such as Safe Place activity and Family Check-In activity.
Hiding or dismissing an item from an individual's view does not necessarily delete the underlying information or stop related processing.
Route and Speed History
Where supported and enabled, Our20 may process route-history information such as:
- route coordinates;
- timestamps;
- location accuracy;
- available speed information;
- distance and duration;
- route-quality or interruption information; and
- information used to authorize sharing with selected family members.
Availability, retention, and sharing of route-history information may depend on account eligibility, feature settings, authorization, and other technical conditions.
Photos and Avatars
If you choose a profile image, Our20 may process the image for use as an avatar.
The application may crop or resize selected images. Our20's image-processing systems are designed to remove certain embedded image metadata, including metadata that could contain location information, before supported avatar storage.
Diagnostic and Operational Information
Our20 may process diagnostic and operational information needed to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the service.
This can include information about:
- location publication and processing;
- route quality;
- Safe Place detection;
- push-notification setup and delivery;
- Check-In processing;
- service errors; and
- backend/service operation.
Diagnostic information may include precise coordinates and speed samples used to evaluate route quality, as well as information stored locally on your device or processed by supporting services.
2. How We Use Information
We may use information to:
- create and maintain Our20 accounts;
- establish and manage family membership;
- provide authorized family-location sharing;
- provide Safe Places;
- provide Family Check-In;
- provide Watch My Trip;
- deliver family messages;
- provide Family Calendar functionality;
- provide alerts and family activity;
- provide supported route-history functionality;
- deliver push notifications;
- determine authorization and family access;
- maintain service reliability;
- prevent abuse and protect account and service security;
- diagnose technical problems;
- respond to support and privacy requests;
- comply with applicable law; and
- operate, maintain, and improve Our20.
We do not use the existence of a family relationship as permission to expose every type of information to every family member. Access depends on the applicable feature, authorization rules, membership, permissions, and sharing settings.
3. How Information Is Shared
With Authorized Family Members
Our20 is built around sharing selected information among authorized family members.
Depending on the feature and settings, family members may be able to see information such as:
- profile information;
- family membership and roles;
- authorized location;
- Safe Place information and activity;
- Check-In information;
- Watch My Trip information;
- messages;
- calendar events;
- family activity; and
- supported route-history information.
Different features can have different sharing rules. Turning off one type of sharing does not necessarily stop another separately authorized feature.
For example, Watch My Trip involves separate trip-specific sharing. Turning off ordinary location sharing does not necessarily end an active trip’s sharing, and arrival does not itself end that sharing; use End Trip. Sharing revocation cannot recall information already received by others.
With Service Providers
We use third-party and platform services to operate Our20.
Based on the current technical implementation, these may include services provided by or involving:
- Google/Firebase, including authentication, databases, storage, backend processing, routing, and related infrastructure;
- Apple, including iOS services, App Attest, MapKit-related functionality, push-notification delivery, and TestFlight during beta distribution;
- Expo, for supported push-notification infrastructure;
- platform geocoding services, for converting between addresses and coordinates;
- external image hosts, when externally hosted avatar images are used; and
- Google Routes, for supported routing or travel-time functionality.
These providers may process information necessary to perform services for Our20, subject to their applicable terms, privacy practices, and our configurations.
We may update this list as Our20's service providers or features change.
Legal, Security, and Business Requirements
We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to:
- comply with applicable law, legal process, or lawful government requests;
- protect the rights, safety, or security of users, Brushy Fork Technologies, or others;
- investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents; or
- complete a corporate transaction such as a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to applicable law.
4. Children's Privacy and Family Accounts
Our20 is a family service that may be used by children and teenagers under parent or legal guardian supervision. Parents and guardians are responsible for authorizing a minor’s use of Our20 and the applicable device permissions and feature-sharing choices.
Our20 may process personal information associated with minor family members, including precise location, profile information, family relationships, messages, calendar information, and other information described in this policy, depending on the features used.
Available settings and sharing controls depend on the account, family role, feature, and application version. An in-app Parent or Child role or a birthday field does not by itself verify age or establish legal guardianship.
Parents or guardians may contact privacy@our20app.com with questions or requests to access, correct, or delete a child’s information, or to ask about limiting further collection or sharing. Brushy Fork Technologies may require information reasonably necessary to verify identity, the relevant account, and authority to act for the child before fulfilling a request. Request handling is subject to applicable law and the retention and deletion limitations described below.
5. Location Sharing and Family Authorization
Location sharing is subject to Our20's applicable account, family, permission, and feature controls.
Parents and guardians should review the permissions and feature-sharing choices applicable to a minor’s use of Our20.
No location technology is perfectly reliable. Our20 cannot guarantee that a location is current, complete, or continuously available.
A user may also disable or restrict location through iOS or device settings. Turning off device-level permission may prevent Our20 from receiving new location information, but it does not necessarily delete location information that was previously processed.
6. Data Retention
We retain different categories of information for different periods depending on the feature, operational needs, security requirements, technical systems, and applicable legal obligations.
Some Our20 systems have bounded retention or maintenance periods. For example, certain route-detail information, summaries, diagnostics, or local evidence may be maintained for defined or bounded periods.
There is no single retention period that applies to all information across Our20 systems. Information may remain in account and family records, shared feature histories, operational records, or backups, subject to the purpose of processing and applicable law. Maintenance and deletion can depend on device activity, connectivity, and supporting service processes.
Display limits—such as showing only recent activity—should not be interpreted as a promise that underlying records have been deleted.
Request expiry, limits on displayed records, and limits on the number of saved summaries do not necessarily erase the underlying information. Removing a family member, hiding a conversation, or dismissing activity also does not necessarily delete historical records.
7. Your Privacy Choices
Device Permissions
You can review applicable permissions, including location and notifications, through iPhone Settings.
Changing a device permission may stop or limit future processing associated with that permission. It does not necessarily delete information already processed.
Our20 Sharing Controls
Our20 provides feature-specific sharing and authorization controls. The availability of particular controls may depend on account type, family role, age, feature, and application version.
Access and Correction Requests
You may contact privacy@our20app.com to request access to or a copy of personal information associated with you, or correction of inaccurate information that you cannot reasonably correct in the app. Where possible, use the email address associated with your Our20 account and describe the information involved. Do not include passwords in your email.
We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. Available scope and format depend on the information, technical systems, and applicable law; a comprehensive machine-readable export is not promised.
Deletion Requests
You may request deletion of your Our20 account or personal information by contacting privacy@our20app.com.
We may need to verify your identity or authority before processing the request.
The scope and timing of deletion may depend on:
- the type of information involved;
- applicable legal obligations;
- security and fraud-prevention requirements;
- information involving other users;
- technical systems and backups; and
- information we are permitted or required to retain.
Deletion is not necessarily immediate or comprehensive. Revoking sharing or deleting information within Our20 cannot recall copies, screenshots, or notifications already received by others.
Requests Involving Children
Parents or legal guardians may submit appropriate privacy requests concerning a child.
We may need to verify the requesting person's identity and authority before providing, changing, or deleting information associated with a minor.
You may also contact us with privacy questions or complaints about collection, use, sharing, retention, or request handling. We handle requests subject to applicable law, including rights that may apply based on where you live.
For more information about privacy choices and submitting a request, visit the Our20 Privacy Choices page.
8. Security
We use technical and organizational measures intended to protect information against unauthorized access, misuse, alteration, or loss.
Our20 uses authentication, authorization controls, protected service endpoints, platform security capabilities, and other safeguards appropriate to supported features.
However, no application, network, storage system, or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
We do not claim that Our20 messaging is end-to-end encrypted.
9. Push Notifications
Our20 uses push notifications for supported family coordination and safety features.
Depending on the feature, notifications may include information such as:
- family-member names;
- Check-In status;
- trip status;
- calendar-event information;
- Safe Place information; or
- message previews.
Message notifications may include part of the message text.
Notifications displayed by iOS may remain visible on a device according to the user's device settings even after information changes within Our20.
Users should consider their lock-screen and notification-preview settings when using Our20.
10. Website Privacy
The Our20 website is a static informational website.
The current website code does not intentionally include advertising trackers, analytics scripts, user logins, contact forms, or code that sets advertising or analytics cookies.
Website hosting, content-delivery, security, and network providers may nevertheless process technical information necessary to deliver and protect the website, such as IP addresses, request information, or security logs.
We will update this policy if the website begins using materially different analytics, forms, cookies, advertising technologies, or other data-processing features.
11. Beta Service
Our20 is currently in beta testing for iPhone.
Features, data practices, service providers, retention behavior, and controls may change as the application is tested and prepared for public release.
We will update this Privacy Policy when material changes to Our20's data practices require it.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date and provide additional notice when required by applicable law.
